In the Know for what’s on show

Everyone knows that Disney has a rich heritage in children’s entertainment with the best animation, live action movies and TV series for younger viewers. The name of Disney is synonymous with family fun, adventure and quality children’s entertainment.

Having established themselves as one of the major entertainment streamers for kids and family-based programming in Ireland, however, Disney+ wanted to let people know that they were also a serious player when it came to impactful, grown up content for adults.

There was a whole other side to Disney+ that our listeners may not have been aware of. Yes, all those great childrens’ series and movies were still there – from the latest blockbusters to those treasured classics everyone remembers growing up – but that was only half the story. Just like its audience, Disney+ has grown up. And along with that development comes a whole new slate of adult-themed movies and series for the more mature viewer. 

And so, to showcase this ever-expanding range of programming, urbanmedia and STUDIO created THE SUSS with Disney+ – a bespoke 60-second on-air feature that brings new shows, series and movies to the attention of our audience in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.

The SUSS with Disney+ is snappy, fun, informative (and it rhymes – which always helps with recall for consumers!) The SUSS keeps Disney+ front of mind in the major urban centres where people have a wide range of streaming platforms available to them.

Hearing about a new show from one of your favourite radio presenters is like getting a recommendation from a trusted friend, giving The SUSS more impact in crowded airtime. The 60 second promos are all recorded and mixed in-house, using the latest Disney+ EPK (Electronic Press Kit) for that week’s movie or show. Clever use of key dialogue and snappy, relatable copy give The Suss an added edge when set alongside a standard trailer.

Insta stories, videos, trailers and imagery are all included in the movie packages and we use this raw material to further promote that week’s recommended movie or show across our social channel and on FM104’s The Buzz segment. Clever use of audio clips really whets the listener’s appetite for some quality home viewing and The SUSS has become a familiar, audibly recognisable feature with its own soundscape and identity. 

This innovative combination of carefully crafted liners, exciting audio production and a sense of fun all combine to create a feature that has expanded to draw ever more viewers to Disney+. The partnership, which initially began airing on Dublin’s FM104 and Cork’s 96FM has extended into Limerick’s Live95 in this, its third year, where even more potential subscribers can listen to The SUSS.

The SUSS with Disney+ is a regular shout out to our listeners with a recognisable catchy title that highlights new movies and shows that are coming exclusively to Disney+, as well as classic shows and movies that have been added to the roster, just in time for a re-watch.
