FM104, Q102, Corks 96fm and WLR deliver particularly strong results in their urban market

The radio industry in Ireland continues to drive significant audience levels with the latest IPSOS/ MRBI JNLR survey showing that 91% of 15+ adults are tuning into radio on a weekly basis.

The research also confirms further audience growth for urbanmedia across its Irish radio stations, located in the 7 key urban centres in Ireland. The group now delivers a weekly audience of 974,000 and also increased national market share of 14.7%. There was also significant growth in the key 25-44 demographic with national market prime time market share increasing to 14.6%.

In Dublin both FM104 and Q102 have shown market share growth with the combined offering now commanding a 12% prime time market share. In Cork the combined Cork’s 96fm and C103 offering grew to a 39% PT share. Waterford’s WLR increased their share of the market to 39.9% while Live 95 in Limerick (25%), Galway Bay FM in Galway (27.6%) and LMFM (34.8%) all delivered strong PT share results in their respective markets.
